A 6kg beauty!!

The stripes on each Giant Snakehead is unique just like our fingerprint! The photo ID is sufficient rather than the normal fish tagging method.

The colour of this type of sub species is excellent, greenish hue with pinkish spots. The fish is heavy due to the muscle composition that make it different from our local Striped Snakehead (haruan).

What a monster!!

Man! This beauty really tested my stamina. With fear of breaking my 30lb PowerPro braided line sets in, I had the best fight of recent years and at the same time glad that I managed to land this giant.

A nice specimen indeed. A whopper 9.0 kg weighed with my fishing scale but the world record for this species is currently held by a Malaysian at 10.0kg and caught in Dengkil, Selangor according to IGFA's website.

Caught and released! This is the way to go.

A beauty caught!

This is a Giant Snakehead (Channa Micropeltes) weighing approximately 8.0 kg caught using a Rapala Magnum saltwater lure. One of the treble hook broke during the fight and after a thrilling 10 minutes of slogging, this beauty was finally landed.

A fighter like no other!

Most of us just hauled the fish to the pot, but not me. It was released after the photos were taken. Definitely it a was a thrilling moment and to see the fish swam away after being released. That really makes my day!
